When we listen deep, our hearts are aligning with the heart of nature’s soul who loves all the same.
We practice “deep listening” in Soulful Relating because in the presence of “deep listening” all parts of self feel respected and safe to breathe and process what they’ve been carrying for you (mind…consciousness…).
i listened to The Great Bell Chant earlier this morning and thought of Thich Nhat Hanh. Many many years ago in Pasadena, when i first experienced him live and heard him speak, i was excited to learn more about him and his presence, because i wanted to know what it was that allowed me to feel so incredibly safe and at home in his presence.
Here’s what i now can see it was: Listening to Thich Nhat Hanh and experiencing his presence, i experienced the Great Listener, Avalokitesvara, who made it safe to breathe and feel my heart. Nature’s soul wants all of us to be able to breathe and feel our hearts like this. When Thich Nhat Hanh died January 22, 22, i spent the day to remember the impact his devoted and engaged presence had on my personal and our collective spiritual health and emergence.
With him and Avalokitesvara around, i can feel that we are emerging strong. Emerging strong is what will save us.
Thich Nhat Hanh asked for the end of suffering in The Great Bell Chant. We learn, “The universal dharma door is already open,” so let’s “listening to the bell” again and again take you through it.
